Cowlitz Indian Casino dealing out jobs in La Center
LA CENTER, Wash. — After several delays, site work has begun on the Cowlitz Indian Casino-Resort in La Center. A project of the Cowlitz Indian Tribe, the casino is expected to ultimately represent an investment of $500 million while creating 1,500 jobs.
The first phase of the casino, a 100,000-square-foot, single-story gaming casino, is expected to begin construction in early 2016 with completion expected in about 18 months. Subsequent additions will include tribal administrative buildings, a 250-room hotel, an entertainment venue and convention center, restaurants, retail and more.
